Heroes of the Forest opens with a discussion of the history of racing in America dating back to the late 1890s. Coverage is also provided for the myriad of postwar U.S. races that occurred prior to the Pebble Beach Road Race. Subsequent volumes are devoted to the drivers, cars, and complete race results.
